Interview with modellbauswiss

I am proud to share with you another interview with one man in front of his company. He said for himself that he don’t want to have a big mass production but I think he definitely deserves. Take a look on this interview, and his products and judge.

Please tell us something about yourself?

My name is Ernst Schweighauser, I’m from Switzerland and I am currently 29 years old. I founded my company 10 years ago.

You're making little masterpieces, that's for sure! How did it all began?

I’ve always been interested in cars. The hobby became my profession. It has always been hard to find model cars here in Switzerland, which is one of reasons for my passion.

How you decide what it's going to be next model to build and where do you find inspiration?

I not realized the wishes of my costumers, from all over the world, I also build model cars for my exhibition. With my passion for cars, I find inspiration everywhere. I have many ideas, sure more than time.

What is normal package of your customs?

A lot can be changed on the model. In the end is a price question. Less work: rims, brakes, interior and details. More work would be a paint job.

Which scale do you modify and why?

It’s 1/18 scale, and it’s best size for me. In recent years, the selection has been growing. This scale is perfect in size, the details are not lost, and it’s very popular size.

I suppose that each model brings a new experience, which model was the hardest to built, and with which you are most proud of?

Each model is different, from processing and the handling. Each manufacturer builds the models differently The most exciting conversions are those when you have an original car and you have to replicate to a model car. That is the most satisfying job.

Do you collect models?

At the beginning I collected model cars myself. Meanwhile I own 1800+ model cars. I do not have a collection anymore, as I see a lot of models in the course of time.

What are plans for future, some new models maybe?

My company should not be too big. My goal is that I take time for every costumer. It should not be mass processing. People should enjoy my work – that’s the biggest goal.

How do you sell models?

I have a homepage a Instagram/ Facebook and Twitter Channel. I sell over these platforms.
